Free VoIP phone call for people located in North America

Free VoIP phone call for people located in North America

For the mobile users who reside in Canada and always frustrate with paying high mobile phone bills from the airtimes, now there is a solution for you. Dell and Fongo launched Dell Voice, a free VoIP(voice-over-internet protocol) app that's available exclusively in Canada. It currently works for Android, iOS and Windows (Desktop).

Features:
  • Free new Canadian phone number or port your existing cell phone number ( $25 transferring fees apply)
  • Free unlimited incoming and outgoing calls
  • Free local and long-distance calls within Canada (except some small towns)
  • Free Voicemail, Caller ID and Call Waiting
  • Each call averaging out to 1MB of data
  • Available on Android and iOS devices; BlackBerry coming soon
The trick I find here is as long as you purchase your device within Canada (let’s say iphone) and you install the dell voice app in your iphone, even if you travel outside of Canada, you are be able to use the installed apps from your device to make a free phone call to your friends in Canada. And the same concept applies for pads, tablets and computers.

From my personal experience, I find another VoIP app Talkatone which provides the highest quality phone calls, but only available for Android, iOS system. When you launch the Talkatone app the first time you'll be presented with two login options - Facebook and Google. I will suggest use the Google account (Gmail) because this year Google still provides free phone calls within U.S. and Canada, except the normal feature talking through device to device,  you actually get bonus to talk through device to phone in North America without any charges at any time. After you install this app, you may need to activate free Google voice account to use this feature.
